You can make an IMPACT

If we have learned anything in 2020 it is that we do not know what the next day holds. The last four months have changed all of our lives and challenged us to re-evaluate what our priorities in life really are. This pandemic has affected us in ways that it will take years to understand. As with many other organizations, the Rain Down family has been affected too. We were able to host our Rain Down Sporting Clay shoot in June and it was an incredible event. With it being in June and with Covid 19 we were down at least 30% in fundraising. We have moved this year’s Rain Down Banquet back to a TBD date with the hopes that we are able to have it. The truth is that we are uncertain about whether we will be able to have it. The Rain Down Banquet event is the single largest revenue stream that we have. We raise at least 75% of our yearly budget through the Rain Down Banquet.

These uncertainties have challenged us to zero in on our mission and to rethink our methods of ministry and our model of funding.

We have been called to a great mission. One resounding thing we have learned through this season of life and ministry is the necessity of outdoor ministry that makes disciples of Christ (Matthew 28:19-20). We are certain of this call on our lives and ministry and are committed now more than ever to see lives changed through our programs. We are not looking to back up but now more than ever we are looking to press forward. We are working on new programs and methods to reach our desired goals. We firmly believe that our most impactful days are ahead.

Ou methods of ministry are always being tweaked to allow us to fulfill our mission. We are designing programs that allow us to make disciples of Christ as we teach youth hunters how to Enjoy Creation, Practice Conservation, and Follow Christ. We are working on new programming and will begin to roll that out of the next few weeks and months.

Our model of funding must change. We love our two fundraising events and know that others do too. We literally have people ask us on a routine basis when either the banquet or the sporting clay shoot are going to be. We love these events and have no plan to stop doing them any time soon. We have also learned that basing our funding model on two public events can have a detrimental affect on our ministry when those events either cannot be held or have to be adjusted drastically.

We feel that the best model for us to move to is a partnership model. We are asking for individuals, families, companies, and churches to consider becoming a partner with Rain Down Ministries. In a partnership there are two people striving for the same goal with each doing their part. In this scenario we are asking that you come along side Rain Down financially as we make an impact in the lives of youth hunters. We would be making an impact together.

The bottom line is that we plan to press on with a full Refuge Camp schedule and youth sporting clay shoots. We also know that we need people who believe in what we do to support the work financially. Your money can make an eternal difference.
